Absolutely lovely place just outside of the historic center (follow the street signs, not Google Maps, to the actual location). Cozy wood-fire and mountain cabin feel, friendly service and a lovely owner who watches over the dining room and serves up complimentary appetizers to each table of bread and tomato with delicious olive oil. Highly recommended. The gnocchi with speck and steak were great.

Landed up here, only restaurant we could find open, seemed to be just a pizzeria from outside. Not at all! We had a wonderful meal straight off the grill with good wine and great service. Grazie mille!

I ate at "Il Caminetto" for dinner a couple of days ago and I'm choosing the restaurant for today and tomorrow.
Starting from the beginning, I am highly lactose intolerant and they took care of me, recommending me some options from the menu in order to still enjoy the food. I gave them a call in order to make sure that I could reserve a table and I immediately had the impression of such nice and gentle people, which I later confirmed once I got there.
Each one of the waiters is smiling and doing the job in a gentle way, they are really interested in your culinary experience and the guy that was serving my table was pretty caring without being bothering and pushy.
The food is so tasty and it follows the tradition of the region, prices are more than convenient for such a quality. The place is not too big yet not too loud, and this is great if you are trying to escape from the usual confusion of the mass tourism. I consider this place a cozy hidden gem and I definitely recommend it!

Woman doesn't speak english but we managed to take an order, we ate meat, which was well prepared and tasteful, but portions are a bit small for the price.

Un posticino davvero accogliente. Personale gentile ed educato e cibo molto buono. Qualità prezzo davvero ottima. Se venite da queste parti una cena è d’obbligo in questo ristorantino.

Ambiente rustico e carino. Cibo ottimo e porzioni abbondanti. Molto buono l'antipasto della casa, ma anche i primi e la grigliata di carne. Ci tornerò sicuramente.

2 sere a Scanno e 2 cene al Caminetto perché essendoci trovati bene abbiamo pensato: perché cambiare? Cibo saporito e genuino, come stare in famiglia anche per il servizio cortese e le piacevolissime chiacchiere con i padroni. Ottimo il Montepulciano bevuto e lode particolare per le pallotte cacio e ova e i loro gnocchetti tipici con le cime di rapa.. presi ambedue le sere! Bravi
